Have you ever taken part in an online challenge? Whether it’s a work out challenge, an Instagram challenge, a clean eating, yoga, money or a clean house challenge - there is SOMETHING about challenges that I want to teach about today - because maybe your next big project could be hosting your very own challenge. There’s something about the momentum of doing things as a group, seeing results quickly and the comradery that makes free challenges successful and I want to help you harness the power of a challenge and use it to grow your reach and your profits.
Three years ago, I hosted my first challenge ever. I remember thinking that a challenge could be a good way to teach free content and get people on board with my strategies while also building a community that would allow me to intimately connect with the people I was trying to reach. My first challenge was a 7 day Instagram challenge where I sent challengers a prompt each day today I want to dissect what worked, what didn’t work, what to do if you want to host a challenge, and the biggest benefits that challenges can bring to your business!

Goal Diggers, we all know social media is one of THE best ways to get word out there about your business… but sometimes it can get tricky. Today, I wanted to focus on one specific facet of social media that rarely gets taught but can make a GIANT impact on how you’re engaging with your audience: How to ROCK your instagram stories! If you are not utilizing IG stories yet, it’s FINALLY time to get on board. And if you are… it’s time to make sure you are using it to its full potential because it is one of the most unique, impactful ways to move your business forward, engage with your fans in an authentic way, and expand your connection with your followers.
Live video is a newer feature in the social media world and with additions like IGTV happening, it’s clear Instagram is sending us a message that if we aren’t using video yet, we better figure out our strategy with it. Essentially, we have a few different options to record ourselves, publish it, and chat with your followers/potential clients. It can be intimidating absolutely, but it is so incredible because it allows you to connect with your audience in real time (and beyond!) and adds an irreplaceable level of humanness and uniqueness to your brand. You essentially get to draw in your potential clients and spread your message in authentic way for free!
Let’s dig in and get specific on the strategy around IG stories and many ways to utilize this feature— from swipe ups, photos, graphics, text overlay, live video, featured stories and MORE! You can use it from your personal or you business page, but regardless, there are certain tips to making sure your message gets across and properly received!

PODCASTING FOR DUMMIES. If you're considering starting a podcast, wondering what goes into podcasting, or just curious about our behind-the-scenes of this show, this episode is for you! I want to be open about the nitty gritty process of starting a podcast from A to Z and let you in on how you can start one of your own!
I’ll admit, starting a podcast is one of the vaguest things in the world. I spent so many days on google trying to find details on things like “How do I get onto iTunes” or “who makes my intro?” It’s still a relatively new “thing”, so you feel a little lost when starting. How do I pick my topic? Demographic? Show name? How the heck do I get a theme song? How do I record it?
Safe to say there are a million and one questions and today we will be covering how we started this “little” show that’s grown into one of the biggest pieces of my business. It’s crazy to think that this started less than two years ago and we have already cracked the top 5 out of ALL business shows and top 50 of ALL podcasts. For reference there are over a billion subscriptions spread across 250,000 unique podcasts in more than 100 languages, and that more than 8 million episodes have been published in the iTunes Store to date. Like, that’s insane. But in order to thrive, you have to start with a foundation, and today I am going to teach you how to do JUST that!

Wow, wow, wow. This guest. Her mission… Brit Barron is the co-founder of Other Dreamers Culture Consultants and a speaker, writer and diversity and inclusion trainer. Brit spends a lot of time thinking about and talking about how race, gender and sexuality and spirituality interact with our everyday lives and our work. Brit is obsessed with finding new ways to connect people and things that have been told they should not go together. She has a bachelors and masters degrees in psychology and is probably already analyzing me as I type this!
Brit has spoken all over the country, she has a TED talk about Beyonce and race in America and she is ready to share her expertise with you! I was introduced to you by the women dynamo Emily Sexton (remember her LIFE CHANGING episode?!). Emily consulted Brit to ensure that her business was casting a wide net and ensuring that every woman felt heard, seen, and valued. And wow, is Brit the perfect person for the job! In this episode you will learn how to easily cultivate a network of connection and support, pioneer change and inclusion in your workplace (...and your life!), find genuine community, tackle the “hard” topics, and how to truly live a life that exemplifies “community over competition.” You in?
"At the end of the day, we are BETTER TOGETHER than separate. Governments with more women involved have higher rates of peace. Companies with higher amounts of people with color in leadership, do better economically because they reach more markets... so yes, we are better together. But first, we have to deal with why those people weren't at the table to begin with." Simply put, Brit knows her stuff. She is an expert on inclusion: from her unique personal perspective to statistics all the way to tangible action steps, Brit is reminding us every day that "people matter." Always, and in all ways.
This. Woman. Boundary-breaking, unifying, inspiring... every possible positive adjective I could write. She is something so rare and the way that she talks about things that matter is so inspiring to me. Goal Diggers, the magic in this episode could change your life- and I know I always say this, but you cannot miss it. Like really, click "play" now. Okay? Okay :)

SEO. Search Engine Optimization. It makes many of us want to put our head in the sand and pretend it doesn’t exist, am I right? I’m guilty of having done that for years until I realized it’s not as scary as we’ve made it out to be and there are some major benefits that can come from some simple implementation on your end. So today I want to break it down and demystify this topic for all of you - because it’s time to put some strategy behind our search engine results.
Search Engine Optimization basically means the process of maximizing the number of visitors to a particular website by ensuring that the site appears high on the list of results returned by a search engine. SEO can be a really complex topic to cover (especially on a podcast!) so my goal today is breaking it down to the basics, tell you where best to invest your time, and prove to you that it’s not so scary so you take action and get started. In my experience, even starting out small with a simple strategy can make a big impact on the traffic that is coming to your website…. Because what good is a website if no one knows it exists?
Let me give it to ya straight: this blog post is only the outline of this show. To get the full impact of this show, I recommend reading along with this blog and writing down all the specific details to maximize your SEO journey.
If you hit play on this episode, my guess is you already know you need to be doing this - so let’s not ignore it anymore - ok?

I have been waiting to have this guest on for what feels like FOREVER. Jen Gotch is the epitome of a girl boss as she founded ban.do with a friend in 2008 and with no prior business experience, was able to transform it from a small, vintage, one-of-a-kind hair accessories company into a multimillion-dollar brand within years. after a long (and winding) road of jobs that led her to where she is today, she’s now the chief creative officer and fearless leader of the ban.do team.
On top of that, she is a fierce mental health advocate and I am so excited to hear her inspiring messages surrounding both business and life. In this episode, you will learn how Jen got her amazing start to ban.do, but also why her current mission is spreading awareness about mental health. Find out how why Jen thinks entrepreneurs are specifically challenged by mental health concerns, tangible way that we can be there for one another, how to actually TALK about such an “uncomfortable topic”, create change, and create community. Goal Diggers, this episode is about to remind you that everything you are feeling today is OKAY. You are not alone and we are all in this together.
