No regrets… But hindsight is usually 20-20.

It’s funny looking back at life and realizing just how many things we could’ve done better, streamlined sooner or simply made smarter decisions about. I’m not an advocate of living with any regrets, but I do think looking at our past is a valuable way to see just how far we’ve come and what we can do better going forward.

This is about pinpointing the things I’ve learned to share with you and *hopefully* save you from potential regrets or heartache or frustration. Curious about the choices I wish I’d made sooner? Press play.

Question: How can you draw a straight line from yourself to the cash? Answer: It’s as simple as ONE product. You only need one product, and one strategy to turn a profit. And that’s how Danielle Leslie built her business.

Now she teaches her students a system for creating and launching an online course that proves complexity isn’t necessary. It’s about leaning into the systems that WORK.

This stuff is my JAM and I’m excited to nerd out with another course creator right now. Honestly, her approach to course creation and launching is so different from mine, that if the concept hasn’t landed for you before, and you still feel unsure about the course world, I promise this interview will make you think differently.

Pssst… We planned a surprise for Jenna and you get to hear it play out on this episode of the Goal Digger Podcast!

Hey friends, it’s Kylie, the manager and producer of the show. When Jenna told me she wanted to do a new Ask Jenna Anything episode this month and we realized it would land on her birthday, I couldn’t waste the opportunity to surprise her.

You’ll hear from some familiar names and voices of Team JK in this episode… But you’ll also hear a few surprises, too. Jenna had no idea what she was sitting down to record. I’ve gave her strict instructions -- No listening to the questions before hitting record (so no preparation!), she must listen and answer in order, and she must keep the track rolling the whole time so we could hear her reactions.

I am so excited for you to hear this candid, off-the-cuff version of Jenna as she answers questions about her personal life, business, what makes her laugh and more.

I watched everyone’s jaw drop to the floor when I told my team what this woman has accomplished.

At 15-years old Keiana Cave was researching the BP oil spill and inventing new ways of detecting toxins in seawater after spills. Before she was barely 20 she’d received millions in funding to continue her scientific research. Now at 21, she’s inventing a non-hormonal birth control pill.

She is a scientist and a CEO, she’s a woman innovating for women, and she encourages girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math, too. Keiana is a brilliant mind and beautiful soul, and I’m so excited that she’s on the Goal Digger Podcast to share her story with you.

We talk about life and business as a woman in science. We talk about birth control and our cycles. We talk about all the things and it’s waiting for you.

Last week, the US Government passed an unprecedented $2 trillion dollar stimulus bill in response to the economic impact of COVID-19. That’s a lot of zeros, and with 883-pages in the bill, there’s a lot of info to digest. I’m not sure we’ve ever done this, but we released this episode less than 24 hours after we recorded it, because we know how important this information will be for you and your small business.

Casey Graham is the Co-Founder and CEO of Gravy, the leading failed payment recovery and customer retention solution for companies with recurring revenue. But more than that, Casey is a champion for entrepreneurs, and when the stimulus package passed, he was quick to dive into what it meant for small businesses with CPA and advisory experts, so he could break it down and translate the language for us on the podcast today.

Casey will answer what a stimulus package is, what it means for small businesses, who qualifies, what you need to do to claim it, and all of the important nitty-gritty details broken down into one episode, because I know you’re not using your quarantine time to read all 883-pages of that bill.

Straight to the facts. Let’s talk about the $2 trillion dollar stimulus package and what it means for YOU.

DISCLAIMER: We are not accountants, lawyers, or government officials and information is subject to change.  We are two small business owners and supporters sharing what we have learned through our own research.

Are you curious about the inner workings of a non-profit? Have you thought maybe a non-profit could be your calling? Are you entrepreneurial minded and want to impact the world with the business you build? This episode is for you.

Hannah Skvarla started The Little Market alongside Lauren Conrad because they wanted to find a meaningful way to give back. Their goal was to create a sustainable way to help women around the world break the cycle of poverty and create a better future for themselves and their families.

The shop is stunning but the mission behind it makes each item even more beautiful. I am so excited for Hannah to share what the early days of The Little Market looked like, how she and Lauren partnered and leveraged each other’s gifts to build the organization, and her advice for getting started on your own non-profit to celebrate and support a cause close to your heart.

This season we’ve suddenly been thrown into is heavy. It’s brought a lot of uncertainty and devastation and things are shifting rapidly. Businesses have bolted doors, schools have been canceled for the remainder of the year, and people who make a living off of hourly work are wondering when’s the next time they'll be able to meet with clients, offer their services and make a living again.

It’s absolute turmoil and completely heartbreaking, from the chaos and panic of a quickly spreading and deadly illness to the impact this disease has already had on business owners and families everywhere. And it’s equally frightening that no one saw it coming and no one knows when things will take an upswing.

So while I hate the circumstance, I can tell you that in this season of waiting, time is the resource that can help you pivot, grow and expand the most. My hope is that you take this time and space to breathe again, dream again, and put steps into motion to keep this thing running WELL after we’ve made it through this challenging season.

So let’s get into the tangible steps to take right now to keep your business flourishing now and next week and next year and beyond.

Ready to START and SUCCEED but don’t know where to begin? This is for you.

Nothing feels more intimidating than starting. Judging by the amount of DMs and comments I see about how I got started in my business, I feel like you might agree that starting can be the hardest part.

My friend Natalis Ellis is co-founder of BossBabe, a community for unapologetically ambitious women. Sounds like my kind of community, right? It has since grown into a massive resource with over 15 million members learning how to start, grow, and scale their businesses.

Natalie also knows that starting can be the hardest part, and that’s why the babes behind BossBabe created a framework around it. Our goal for this episode is to demystify the how of starting your business, what you can do to move from side hustle to full time, and why being resourceful is more important than having resources.

Affiliate marketing is one of THE best ways to start generating passive income and getting paid to share the things you already adore AND that you likely already share with your people because of said adoration.

Anyone with a following can pursue it to make more money -- without creating, packaging, shipping, or building a darn thing... Other than content.

It’s not about having thousands, tens of thousands, or a million-plus followers. It’s not about having any air of celebrity or a household name. It’s not even about whether you consider yourself an “influencer” or not. The KEY is that if you want to successfully affiliate with a brand and see success doing it, there NEEDS to be passion and authenticity behind who you choose to represent and partner with. This episode covers it all.

I love speaking with and for women on this podcast. But when I saw this man’s name land in my inbox, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to offer a different perspective on the show. This is a great discussion to hear together with your partner.

Dave Hollis is COO of The Hollis Co. He’s also husband to one of my friends who you may know very well, Rachel Hollis. And in this episode we discuss what it’s like being the husband of that very successful woman. I ask him about gender roles, about imposter syndrome, and the lies men continue to believe about how a real man acts or feels. I can’t wait for you to hear this conversation.

Are you still in the bustle of trading your precious hours for money? Wait, wait, did you know your TIME is worth something? Maybe you’re like, “nah, that’s not me. I’m not an hourly employee, and I don’t charge an hourly fee for my services. I don’t trade time for money.”

No matter what you do, life is a game of time and money, right? That was the name of my game for the first 5 years of my business. I only got paid when I showed up. The only way I could scale my business was through working more, that was it. There was nothing scaleable about it, there wasn’t a secret recipe to make money while I slept. I was in the business of trading time for money.

I realized a couple years ago how very fleeting and special time is. I can always create more services, products, and offers, but time? I can’t get that back, ever, so it’s become my absolute number one priority to protect it. Anyone, no matter what line of business you’re in or what your work style is, you have the ability to make small shifts to begin transitioning away from trading your time for money.

Let’s really get into the tactical steps you can be taking to gradually move away from this time for money standard.

What’s really holding you back from scaling your business? Do you ever feel like you’ve got the systems, your client base is there, you’re ready to invest your time but then… A mental roadblock pops up. Your self-limiting beliefs creep in and you’re stalled before you even start.

When fear and self-doubt threatens your dreams, you not only feel it, but other people can sense it. Showing up confidently is the key to communicating your message and getting others to share in it… But that’s easier in concept than execution. I called in the leader of Business Boutique and Ramsey Personality Christy Wright for this episode because she has a gift for helping women change their mindset in their businesses to allow for growth. Or heck, even just giving yourself permission to start.

This is a conversation for anyone wanting to retool their mindset, show up confidently, and tell fear to take a hike so you can start right now. Sound like you? Press play.

I can’t help but laugh when I scroll back to my earliest days on instagram. There are grainy photos of my dogs and random #inspirational quotes I found who knows where filling my feed, which by the way, had ZERO consistency or flow. My aesthetic was NOT right, sis. I’d post when I felt like it and didn’t have a strategy.

Everyone starts somewhere, right? And even though I teach instagram and social media strategy now, I didn’t always have thousands of followers and a clear vision for how the social media world could transform, enhance, and even sustain my business.

The “starting” phase is easily the hardest and most gritty because we often think of alllll the things we need to do and get overwhelmed. This episode is about paring it down, simplifying and removing the barriers to entry so you can legit get started right away. By the end of this episode, I want you to be equipped to begin nurturing your following and stepping into the person and business owner you’re becoming.

Talking to my students about what’s been going on since they invested in their dreams gets me all sorts of excited. I have four students on the show who decided a year ago to hand over their credit card for the Knowledge Broker Blueprint.

I took the course, too, twice actually and I could tell you all day long how incredible the content is, how I got a new million dollar idea in the process, and all the real, tangible results I’ve seen since taking it… But I want you to hear from students who were on the fence and took the leap.

Stephanie Ann, Hans, Hilary and Ty are here to share their before, during, and after stories of KBB, as well as the reservations they had and how those went out the window as they started the course. This is what happens when you invest in your dreams.

So you took a leap and you handed over a chunk of money and now you’re all signed up for a course that promises XY and Z to improve your business or systems or lifestyle. Or maybe your finger is hovering over an online course that you’ve been eyeing up for a while and you’re not sure what happens after you confirm your purchase… You buy it, then what? How do you stay interested and follow through to implement, especially as life happens fast and furiously on the side?

Let’s talk about how to make your money spent on a course a worthy investment, from how to know if a course’s expense actually makes sense for your business or life, to the steps it takes to truly follow through on taking all the lessons and implementing them in a way that will make your investment worth it.

I’m also going to share MY exact process for getting courses done and taking advantage of the materials, because you know the course queen herself has a few secrets up my sleeve to make this whole thing efficient AND actionable, my two favorite words.

What is your why? What is the true reason you jump out of bed and keep cruising toward your dreams, even when it gets really stinking tough? Getting to the heart of your why is the single biggest factor in sticking with your goals no matter how rough the road gets. And I don’t say this in theory, I say it because I know. Ever since trying this exercise, my vision of my why has never been clearer, and my drive to continue the work that I’m doing has never been stronger.

It’s called Seven Levels Deep, and it’s from the only course I took last year called the Knowledge Business Blueprint. Seven Levels Deep is, “a very important tool with the main focus of anchoring in your ‘why’. There may not be a more powerful motivating factor on the planet than knowing your true ‘why’. When you know; in your soul, why you get up every morning and fight for your dreams, you’ll never let anything get in your way of becoming the person you are meant to be.”

There’s a big reason Tony Robbins is so successful, and it’s not just his business acumen. He’s undeniably charismatic and big-time energetic. He dials into your potential and gifts within 15 seconds of talking to you, and boldly encourages you to seek and draw them out.

I know Tony isn’t for everyone but I will always seek out the opportunity to learn from people who are different from myself, who approach their businesses differently than I approach my own… Because when you look for leaders who look exactly like you in all ways, you’re never challenged. Tony challenged me over the past year.

That’s why I am thrilled to share this conversation with you, so you can learn from a mentor of mine who approaches his life and business differently than I approach my own. We get into the man beyond the titles. I ask his advice for identifying the valuable gifts you’ve got bottled up inside and for evaluating mentors and educators. We talk about the knowledge business and what the future looks like for online educators like us. And I challenge him: Why the heck hasn’t he retired yet?

You owe the world your knowledge. It’s truly that special.

That thing that you know so well, your superpower, isn’t second nature to everyone, or others would have to work for years to gain the same level of knowledge that you have. And so many times, we’re so caught up with life and working our booties off to reach the next level, that we have no clue what our own superpower even is.

If you’ve been wondering where your knowledge and natural talents meet in a way that you, too, can package them up and offer to others, this is the episode for you, my friend. Grab a pen and notebook, get cozy!

What’s it like to walk that long hallway with the intimidating music, diving head first into a pool of hungry  millionaire investors, hoping quietly that you don’t forget any details of your pitch? What’s it like to be on ABC’s Shark Tank? My friend Kate Field knows and she’s going to spill the tea on the whole experience.

The prep was intense, but Kate told me she could talk for DAYS about the research and number crunching that went into her pitch for Shark Tank, and why that process is helpful for any business owner, not just one looking to impress Mr. Wonderful.

This is an episode about knowing your numbers, fine-tuning a pitch, and what it’s really like to be on Shark Tank.

THE OG JK DAYS. Are you curious about the mechanics, mistakes, and money behind the first course I ever launched in March of 2015?

I get asked all the time about how I got started, how I transitioned from full-time photographer to digital marketing educator, podcaster, influencer, and all the other hats I love wearing now.

I’ll share the decisions I made with my first course that I sorta cringe at now, what I think went well, how much money I made, what techniques I’m STILL using today, how I pieced things together for a very haphazard launch, and all the other juicy details about the Jenna Kutcher Course. Yep, that was the name. So embarrassing.

A few months ago, I flew 14 hours around the world with Drew and Conley and landed in the stunning lush country that you’ve seen on water bottles, Fiji. I’d been invited to a mastermind led by my business coach Dean Graziosi and Tony Robbins.

Here are the 3 most impactful lessons I walked away from Fiji with, and also the most common questions I got from the guys in attendance — some of them might just surprise you.
